I went to pick up my car from the garage. When the manager learned I was an immigration attorney, he said, “You must be so busy since the borders are wide open.” “What do you mean,” I asked. “You know,” he says, “Biden is just letting everyone walk right in. The criminals, the drug dealers, the rapists. Everyone.” He said, “They were coming in suits and bussed to other states.” He truly believes that is what’s happening.
It would be easy to ignore him, but he isn’t alone in this view. So many Americans have no idea of the sacrifices it takes to travel thousands of miles to come to the U.S. for a better tomorrow. Most immigrants couldn’t even ask for asylum for the past two years, and they have been forced to wait in Mexico. What has happened to many of them in Mexico is horrific.
