Steps to get your U-visa

Every case is unique, so some steps may be different for you.

Don’t worry, we’ll explain each step clearly to make sure we successfully get your U-Visa.

U-VISA investigation

1. Background Check We need to investigate your history in the USA government agencies. It helps to know about your past behavior to make informed decisions.


2. Gather Documents We will collect all the necessary papers or files needed for your case. Information about yourself, family, employment, evidence of good moral character among others.


3. Order from police, court, and medical records Our team will request official copies of documents from police departments, courts (if the case was escalated), or medical facilities (when applicable).


4. Can we make a U-visa case? With all the information we have already gathered from the government institutions, we will determine if we can file a successful U-visa case to Immigration, so we can go the next step: Supplement B

5. Assemble Supp B requirements Gathering and organizing all the documents and information needed to complete Supplement B: Proof of cooperation with authorities, Case-related documentation, Personal identification documents.


6. Mail package to law enforcement agencies Sending the forms and supporting evidence to a police department, sheriff’s office, or other law enforcement agency


7. Get Signed Supp B Obtaining a completed and signed Supplement B, this confirms that you have cooperated or are cooperating with the authorities.

8. Psychologist appointment (if applicable) Make an appointment with a psychologist if it's needed according to the crime you suffered.


9. Prepare forms Filling out the needed forms with the right information so they are ready to submit your U-visa.


10. Assemble package Gathering all the required documents and organizing them together in one place. This includes supporting documents, and evidence of cooperation with authorities.


11. USCIS receives United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has received your application for the U-visa.


12. USCIS mails receipt United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) sends a confirmation notice to let you know they have received your application for the U-visa.


13. Biometric Appt Scheduled appointment for you (and your beneficiaries) to provide biometric information, such as fingerprints, photos, and a signature to USCIS.


14. Obtain bona-fide determination Getting an official confirmation that your situation is genuine and not fake. This is determined by USCIS with all the evidence we send previously.


15. Receive work permit Getting official approval from the government that allows you to work legally in the country.
